How You Can Help

Be a FRIEND of Tulsa's MATH LITERACY. Stay in touch and contribute your ideas, information & encouragement. Spread the word to all of your contacts. To see the latest flyer, click; If you want a MSWord copy of that flyer for printing and circulating, send a "flyers, please" e-mail to office@mathelite.org

Subscribe to, and contribute to, the Project's e-Newsletter. Share it with anyone who might be interested. Subscribe by sending an "info, please" e-mail to office@mathelite.org [Be sure to include the name of the adult who owns your e-mail box. ]

VOLUNTEER to help ... from your home, workplace, libraries, on the road, or at the Center (31st St. near Garnett Rd.). Your time, talents, experience and imagination can help the Project to help thousands of educationally hurting Tulsans. Whatever your interests, expertise, and passions, it is quite likely that they can be pursued in some way that can help Tulsa's math-impoverished. Send a noncommittal "willing to help" e-mail to office@mathelite.org. The office will respond with a questionnaire to explore your interests and availability.

Perhaps you can give only a little of your time, and only occasionally .... or maybe you would like to serve as regularly scheduled, part-time volunteer "staff". The Help Wanted page lists some of the services now needed. But Until the MatheLite Project raises the money to pay for staff, all of the "staff work" is being done by volunteers.

Volunteer services are worth $ ... because they reduce the payouts for Project operations. That allows the Project to do more than it could if it had to pay for all "staff" services. The IRS does not allow the $-value of volunteer services as being tax-deductible donations. But any unreimbursed expenses (for space, utilities, telephones, printing, travel, etc.) are tax-deductible.

OFFER A CONTRACT. Much of what must be done must be paid for with money. As a not-for-profit venture, the MatheLite Project must budget well into the future ... and must know who is willing to provide the needed services, at what costs. Take a look at the Help Wanted page. Then enter our resources directory by sending an "offer" e-mail to office@mathelite.org.

DONATE money or material items. Donations of money-valued items (equipment, supplies, etc.) are tax-deductible ... and the donors declare the market values of their donations. Those may be offered by sending a "gifts" e-mail to gifts@mathelite.org All monetary donations are tax-deductible and may be made in person, by U.S. mail, or on-line [below].

DONATE NOW !

Monetary donations:

• To donate money on-line, click on any donate on the sidebar.

• To send checks by U.S. mail, or to have your bill payer send checks, make payments to:

      The Mathelite Project
      P.O. Box 54845
      Tulsa, OK     74155-0854

• To be listed among the Mathelite Patrons, make automatic monthly donations of $1 or more (best made via your bill payer). After making your first auto-payment, make your Patron's pledge by sending an e-mail to gifts@mathelite.org Subject: "List me as a MatheLite PATRON". [2012 goal =1000 Patrons]

• To donate money in person, request a visit from a Project representative, by calling the Project's Acting Coordinator, Prof. Clyde Greeno, at 918-836-6284 ... or by e-mail to gifts@mathelite.org

• To invite the Project's formal requests for donations, or formal applications for grants, send e-mail the Project's Acting Coordinator, Prof. Clyde Greeno [greeno@malei.org] or place a telephone call to 918-836-6284.

Material donations : (equipment, supplies, property, etc.)

All offers are welcome. However, because the Project presently has very limited space, staff, and maintenance funds, it presently can accept gifts of material items only if those are of immediate use for current Project activities, or can be easily sold or traded. Offers are best made first through e-mail to gifts@mathelite.org. The Project's lists of current needs for equipment and supplies may be accessed here or via the sidebar.
